Madoline Agudo~dela Rosa Visual Artist/painter Born on June 21, 1953 in Banga South Cotabato Associate Professor of the University of Southeastern Philippines, retired, 2013

Madoline is a lover of nature and always wonder how intricate are God's works she sees around. She considers the human eye as the most delicate creation of God, that made her much fascinated when painting a portrait which is her forte. She is considered as one finest portrait artist produced in Davao City. Madoline started to draw since a little child and started to paint in her elementary years. But her parents were not supportive in her talent. She is a BSIE graduate, major in Drafting in Davao School of Arts and Trades, Davao City, in 1976. She begun to accepts commissions on portrait while in college. She draws and paints anything at any medium. Not a full-time in the art but prioritized her teaching job to support her eight children being a solo parent and sole breadwinner then. She just receives commissions on portrait as her sideline and painted the past and present presidents of the University of Southeastern Philippines, Davao City, where she was working as a faculty in Social Science Department. At age 60, she decided to retire and focus on visual arts. She begun to showcase her works in social media and connects with many different artist's groups. She used to be invited as judge in art competitions in the city of Davao she had also joined some art competitions and awarded "best work in pen and ink" during Araw ng Dabaw, 1983. Recently, she got first prize and great prize in the International Festival of Portraits in Romania, 2016 and 2017.

 

Now being a full time artist, she continues accepting portrait commissions and conducts art tutorials and workshop. She also joined several group art exhibits both local and national level. Her present goal is to make a body of work for a solo exhibit in the near future
